Dwight Tracy is recognized as a visionary force in the Marine Industry, renowned for his integrity, quality and success. Dwight’s manner of doing business has earned him the rarest of business accomplishments. The name Dwight Tracy has become a brand, the standard for true excellence in any given industry.
Dwight Tracy was personally recruited and hired by Winthrop P. Rockefeller as a yacht broker for Allied Marine. Through hard work & perseverance, he proved himself in a competitive and select environment. Dwight rose through the ranks to a top management position within the Rockefeller organization. In the early 1990’s, he acquired Allied Marine and rechristened the company The Allied Marine Group (AMG). Over a 20 year period of managing and building every area of AMG, Dwight grew the company from a single location on the Miami River to what was regarded as a global marine powerhouse, creating at the time the largest privately-held yacht sales and service dealership in the world. AMG operations included new production yacht sales, super yachts, brokerage, service, charter, real estate, finance and insurance, ship stores, and dry storage.
As Owner, Chairman and CEO of The Allied Marine Group, Dwight took great pleasure in the daily challenges of managing and growing the company. With his guidance, AMG pioneered many of the successful systems that are practiced in the Marine Industry today. Additionally, his introduction of the first Super Yacht division exposed Dwight to countless transactions of custom yachts of the highest pedigree.
Displaying foresight as to the coming changes within the marine industry, Dwight sold The Allied Marine Group in 2001. In January of 2004, he formed a new and dynamic company specializing in yacht sales and marine service. That company is Dwight Tracy & Friends (DT&F) based in Fort Lauderdale. Utilizing 30-years of successful experiences, Dwight’s vision for DT&F was to create the comprehensive resource for yacht buyers and sellers. To fulfill that vision would mean that every client who put their trust in DT&F would be placed on a pedestal, which is what has come to pass.
Today, Dwight Tracy’s idea of transforming clients into Friends defines DT&F. This unique approach has placed DT&F at the very pinnacle of the yacht brokerage world. As Dwight is fond of saying, “We look forward to earning your trust, friendship and business.”
