With a long and varied background in the marine industry, Phil Friedman provides clients with the benefit of his intimate knowledge of new-build and major refit projects. From project development to costing, planning and negotiations, to supervision and management, Phil works skillfully and tirelessly to initiate new-builds and major refits, and keep them on track to successful completion.

As president and CEO of Palmer Johnson Yachts, Phil was responsible for executive management of a group of companies with annual gross revenues in excess of $50 million and nearly 600 employees across the country. Under Philís direction, PJ developed and sold several hundred million dollars in new yacht construction and major refit work, and built and delivered a dozen luxury megayachts in the 30- to 60-meter range.

Prior to that, Phil was VP-Operations and CFO for a multi-location luxury yacht dealership and chain of boatyards employing 150 craftsmen in the commissioning, maintenance and refit of luxury yachts. Additionally, over the years Phil provided a broad range of marine-related technical and business consulting services to a wide variety of clients, Including yacht owners, boatbuilders, marine manufacturers, and aerospace companies.

During several years as Senior Editor for Power & Motoryacht magazine, Phil tested and evaluated hundreds of yachts worldwide. He has published more than 600 articles on yacht design, construction, repair and maintenance.

Philís more recent consulting work includes the planning and supervision of the shipfitting for a 45-meter high performance composite military patrol vessel, the project planning and management of prototype construction for a new line of 65-foot high performance catamaran motor yachts, and the design, planning and supervision of the fabrication and installation of ultralight interior joinery and furniture in two high-performance Hovercraft patrol vessels.
